Mind
Honey's POV.
He pocketed his hands and pressed his lips. "Sometimes, I do feel sorry for him."
"So what happened to him?"
He smiled and I flushed. "It's a long story. I might tell you some other time."
The attendant behind the counter smiled and slightly waved at me. "Have a nice day, ma'am."
I smiled at her and left the shoe store. I stopped before the road and brought out my Samsung. I wanted to call an uber.
"You brought your car?" The man, my savior, asked.
I turned to him and shook my head. "No, I want to order for an uber."
He looked ahead of him and pointed at a shiny black Bugatti La Voiture Noire which was parked at the garage of the shoe store. "That's my car over there. If you don't mind, I can give you a ride."
My jaw dropped as I stared at the car. It was one of the most expensive cars in the world! This man must be fifthly rich if he owned that car.
"...you don't mind, do you?”
"What?" I asked.
I was so mesmerized with the beauty of the car that I didn't hear what he said.
He frowned and pocketed his hands. He must really hate repeating himself. "I asked if you want a ride."
I wondered why he was in a bad mood. Did I say something wrong?
"No, don't bother. I'm okay." I didn't want to disturb him any more so I turned down his offer and looked at my phone to order a ride.
He looked displeased with my refusal, but he nodded and turned to leave. "Alright, take care of yourself."
I smiled. "Thank you."
I looked at him and watched him walk toward his car. Gosh, I still can't wrap it into my tiny head that that car actually belongs to him. He must be very rich!
The door of the store creaked and someone walked out of it. I turned and saw my mysterious stalker walking toward me. His face was still hidden behind a face cap and mask. Outside of the store wasn't as gloomy as the inside of the store so I noticed a skull-like symbol on his neck which was similar to the symbol on his nose mask.
I flinched and dashed to meet my savior who was about to enter his car. He sat down on the driver seat and looked up. He frowned. It seemed like he was getting irritated with my disturbance.
I bit my lip and looked at the entrance of the store. I cleared my throat and tried to act unbothered. "I'm… I need a ride."
He scoffed. "You said you will call an uber."
I nodded. Yeah, he was right, but then I didn't know that the stalker was still watching me! I went to the other side of his car, opened it and sat beside him.
I shrugged and looked at the side mirror to check if my stalker was following me. "I changed my mind."
He smirked. I actually wasn't aware I had just stepped into the lion's den. The lion was secretly waiting in the dark, but I went into the darkness like a lost sheep.
"Alright, I will give you a ride." He said and drove out of the garage.
I uttered a sigh of relief as we drove out of the garage. The stalker wasn't in sight so I guess he left. I told him my destination.
I smiled at my savior. "Thank you."
He shrugged, his eyes concentrating on the road. "I haven't done anything yet."
I grinned. "Of course you did. You saved me."
He smirked and his eyes kind of darkened. "I didn't save you, I just prevented you from being taken."
"That's the same thing as saving me." I pointed out.
He was trying to let me know he wasn't actually my savior and I was blind by his disguise of kindness that I didn't realize that the whole stalking thing might just be a way to make me come to him.
I relaxed on my seat. "You probably know that I'm a singer, right?"
He shook his head. "No, I don't."
I sat up and looked at him, surprised. I thought I was gaining more popularity after airing my latest album, fatherhood. I mean some of the songs in the album have more than 10 Millions views on youtube and it was displayed on a lot of billboards from all over the world.
I blinked my eyes trying to understand how he doesn't know me. At the very least , he could have seen me on TV.
"You don't know me?" I asked again.
He frowned and looked at me. "Am I meant to know you?"
I pouted. I was used to being recognized that it felt strange that he didn't know me. "Well, it's not like you are meant to, but I was thinking you might have seen my pictures somewhere. Maybe on magazines, billboards, television or even on social media."
"I don't have time for any of those." He said coldly.
I nodded. "Okay. I have a concert in New York coming up on Saturday night. I will be glad if you can come."
I unzipped my handbag and brought out a plastic ticket. I stretched it towards him. "This is a ticket to the concert, you can accept it as an act of gratitude."
He glanced at the ticket. "I can't accept it."
"Why?"
"I'm always busy on Saturdays."
"It doesn't matter, just take it. If you have some spare time then you can come and check on me," I insisted.
He hummed, took the ticket from my hands and kept it in one of the drawers of his car.
He stopped the car before my music studio and looked at me. "This is the place, right?"
I nodded and stretched out to open the door of the car. I paused and looked at him. I might never have crossed paths with him, but I wanted us to meet again so I asked for his phone number.
He looked at me, surprised. "You want my number?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I want to get to know you."
If I knew who he truly was, I wouldn’t have wanted to know him. I would have run away from him the moment I bumped into him in the hallway of the shoe store. If I knew what he had done to my family… if I knew he was more dangerous than my stalker… If I knew he was after me, I would have hated him with all my gut and wouldn’t have asked for his number.
If only I knew.Honey's POV.He gave me his number and drove off. I smiled as I looked at his number and saved it as 'Handsome Savior’. I kept my phone in my handbag and watched as he drove away. I really hoped to see him at the concert. I smiled and turned. Amelia was stepping out of the music studio, she watched as the car drove away. She turned to me and arched her brow when it was out of sight. "Oyin, who was that?""He is someone who saved me a while ago."Her brows furrowed and walked to me looking worried. "What happened?” She asked. “Why did you say he saved you?"I held the handle of my handbag and pressed my lip. "Well, there was a mysterious fan who was stalking me when I went to the shoe store and I kind of ran into him while I was trying to avoid the stalker."Amelia bit her lip and shook her head. "This won't have happened to you if you had let me follow you." She scolded me.I pouted and walked into the music studio. "Then, I'm glad you didn't follow me because if you did, I wouldn't ha
Lorenzo’s POV She was beautiful.I stared at the young lady on the television. Her black curly hair billowed in the air as she moved her body in rhyming movements, dancing to her song in her music video. Her song was nice, but it wasn't as attractive as her. She flowed like water, swaying her hips and twisting her body. Her amber eyes zoomed in, it shone bright like I was staring directly at her. I leaned on my couch and stretched my hand to take the glass of wine set on an ornate stool before me. My eyes focused on the screen of my television as I took a quick sip and observed her. No mistake, she was the lady I had met at the shoe store this afternoon. She seemed to be into me and that very thought intoxicated my blood with lust. In this music video, she was wearing a cropped top that barely covered her breast and silver shorts which exposed her dark skin. It glowed as she brushed her hands along her breast. She wasn't even touching me, but it turned me on. She was a precious ros
"Strip." He said calmly.I fidgeted with my hands and stared at the floor avoiding his cold eyes. He made it sound like he requested for a simple act. He crossed his legs and rested his hand on his kneel. He smirked. He was having fun watching me broken and helpless. "Don't test my patient. I can assure you that you won't like it when I get angry." He said coldly.I sobbed and covered my mouth. I felt insulted and humiliated. "Please… Please.. Just—" He took a quick stride and grabbed my hair. I whimpered in pain and sobbed harder. He yanked it up until I was staring at his cold eyes. "Now listen to me, you do whatever I want or…" He brought out his gun from his back pocket and pressed it under my chin. I flinched and he tightened his hold. "Or you die. You get that?"I nodded and more tears dropped. He smiled and patted my hair. "Then, be a good pet. Okay?"I gave a quick nod and my body relaxed when he placed his gun into his pocket and walked back to the grand king-size bed. He
Honey's POV.Today was nice.It was the kind of day that makes one feel happy and delighted. The atmosphere was cool and the wind blew gently along the street. If you were calm enough, you could feel it brushing your skin. A sign you weren't alone. The temperature of the sun was just perfect. It wasn't too hot, not too cold. It was early May. The exotic scent of Jacaranda tree welcomed me as we drove through the road. Its bright purple leaves beautified the road.I leaned on my car seat and brought out my headphones. I was on my way to MD photo Studio for my latest album photoshoot. I plugged in my headphones and listened to a song from my new album titled fatherhood. I was a Nigerian-American singer. I started my singing career after I finished highschool. My father had been my biggest fan, so I composed this song for his upcoming birthday. I smiled, I loved to see his expression as he listened to the song. Lately, things have been hard on him and that precious smile I cherished a lot
Honey's POV.After the shoot, I went to the changing room. I changed my outfits and wore a plain black turtleneck silken top and a black and navy striped wide leg pants. Immediately, I entered the changing room, I sat on a high stool and brought out my phone. I saw a missed call notification from my Dad. I called him back and smiled when he picked up."Dad.""Yes, sweetie. How was the shoot?""It was good, we just finished.""I hope it wasn't stressful." He sounded concerned.I chuckled and shook my head. "No, it wasn't. It was actually fun, you should have come with me."He actually promised to accompany the photoshoot, but he was busy so he couldn't."Oh my, you have no idea how much I wished I followed you, but I will make it up to you, okay?"I smiled and turned on the stool. Amelia entered the changing room and waited for me to finish my call. "Really? How will you make it up to me."He hummed. "Hmm, let me think about it."I chuckled and shrugged. "You can make it up to me by buy
Honey's POV.I was about to open the door of the restroom when I bumped into something hard and rigid. I looked up and noticed a chiseled face looking down at me, confused. I didn't know him, but I hugged him tightly and whispered into his ears."Just act like you know me."He hugged me back. His body was warm and firm, causing me to feel a foreign sense of comfort. He brought his hand from his pocket and cupped the nape of my neck before leaning his head close to my ears. His breath fanned my skin, causing a shiver to rub down my spine. "Is someone stalking you?" He asked. I tightened my arms around his taut waist and nodded. "Yes, I don't know what he wants."I should have let go of him, but I didn't. I felt strangely safe in his arms. I turned my head and risked a glance at my stalker. He had stopped following me. Instead, he leaned on the wall and was pressing his phone. It looked more like he was waiting for the man I was hugging to leave me alone. I wouldn’t make that happen.I
