"Auntie!" Lisa cried out, her voice breaking as she burst through the front door. Tears streamed down her face, leaving wet trails on her cheeks.

Kate's footsteps echoed on the floor as she descended the grand staircase. She was wearing a face mask, her skin glistening with a layer of cream. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, she saw Lisa standing there, her face flushed with anger. A bruise bloomed on her cheek, like a dark purple flower.

"Why are you shouting like a mad woman? Didn't I teach you to learn some manners when speaking to me?" Kate said with gritted teeth, annoyed at Lisa for ruining her skincare routine.

"I'm sorry, Aunt Kate," Lisa said, her voice shaking. "You don't understand what that woman has done to me." She bit her lip, hard enough to draw blood, tears welled up in her eyes, threatening to spill over.

Her forehead was covered in scratches, and her clothes were ripped to shreds. She looked like she had been through a battle, and it showed in
