CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

I was admiring a moving line of soldier ants near the fence of the New Girls hostel, when I beheld Aurelia, Tee and a handful of my female course mates. The distance between us was up to ten meters, but they didn’t notice me, and even if they did, they didn’t behave as though they did. They bought barbecued beef, noodles, biscuits, soft drinks, toasted bread and eggs, sandwiches and bottles of water.

I turned and looked away from the soldier ants before crossing my legs. I was sneezing the next moment when A. J. Baby walked towards me in confident and dainty steps.

“Good evening Pierre.”

“Good evening A. J. Baby, how was your day?”

“Fine, fine, fine.” A. J. Baby responded in a deep voice while looking around suspiciously. She wasn’t the type who was into make-up and cosmetics, but I was amused to see her lips adorned with lip gloss on this particular evening.
