CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

I almost blushed at Gahn’s last statement, and soon began to wonder if all ladies thanked the man who (tenderly) deflowered them.

“Goodnight Gahn… I love you.”

I heard Gahn kissing me through the phone before ending the phone call. I picked up a small box of chocolates, lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling while dropping the cubes of chocolate into my mouth.

A lawyer once said that every lawyer must be ready and know how to lie on impulse, and in an ‘emergency.’ I smiled at the lie about getting some things from Uselu for my mum. I was standing in front of my hostel room and watching a group of male students playing football on the large field facing my hostel block when a taxi cab drove towards me. I stared at the driver and the occupant in the back seat. The face looked familiar in the distance, and I smiled when the taxi cab slowed down and parked near me.
