Chapter 2-Her Secret Condition

Malia Morris P. O. V

Before I could ask any questions, Timothee dragged me outside and gestured to his car, parked nearby.

"Let's talk about this somewhere private," he said and opened the door for me. I hesitated for a moment but I was so curious about his offer. I slid onto the passenger seat and Timothee got in behind the wheel.

As he drove through the city, I tried to process everything that happened. I had gone from being trapped in a nightmare to being offered a dream opportunity.

All in the space of an hour. But at what cost?

I wanted to ask questions but I chose to shut my mouth. Moments later, Timothee turned his car into a private hospital's parking lot.

"What are we doing here?" I asked as I looked around.

"You'll see," he said and led me inside the hospital, down a corridor, and into a private room.

As we entered, my jaw dropped as I saw Bianca Wilson, lying in the bed surrounded by machines and tubes. But her beauty was still evident even in her comatose state.

"What happened to her?"

Timothee took a deep breath and his expression was somber, "Bianca is suffering from a brain tumor."

Brain tumor?? I couldn't believe this. The stunning supermodel was dying???

Timothee turned to me, "We're the only one who knows about her condition. She told me not to tell her family and close friends, but I had to tell you this because you're the only one who can save her."

I was so confused why he was sharing it with me but then, like a puzzle piece clicking into place, it hit me.

"Is this why you want me to disguise as her because I look like her?" I seriously asked.

Timothee nodded, "Yes, Malia. You exactly just look like her and we need your help to save my crumbling company and Bianca's modeling legacy. We were supposed to get married to save each other's back but then this happened."

My head was spinning. I can't take on someone's identity. Pretending to be someone I'm not? It felt wrong like I was stealing a part of her life.

"I know this is a crazy deal but I want you to prepare yourself for another revelation." Timothee pulled out a letter from his pocket.

"Read this, Malia. It's from Bianca herself."

My hands trembled as I took the letter, my eyes scanning the words written in Bianca's elegant script.

Dear Malia,

I know this may come as a shock to you but I've been searching for you. It was too late for me to find out that I had a twin sister. Also, when I found out about my illness, I knew I had to find you. But I only have a limited time, I'm hoping Timothee can be the one to find you. I need your help, Malia. I need you to take my place, to be me, so that my legacy can live on. I know it's a lot to ask but I have no one else to turn to.

You're my only hope, Malia. I love you.

My eyes welled up with tears as I read the words, my heart was aching to know that I had a twin sister. I had always felt like something was missing in my life, and knowing the truth made my heart bleed.

I looked up at Timothee, "Is there a way to save my sister's life?" I sobbed.

"I've tried everything to save her but her condition got worse. She's been lying here for four months, while the doctors aren't sure if she will survive. And it's saddening to hear she only has five months to live."

My gaze drifted back to Bianca, as I looked at her I knew what I had to do. "No, she will not die. I will find a way to save her."

I couldn't imagine what it must be like to be in my sister's shoes, to be facing death and leaving behind a legacy that meant everything to her.

"I've made up my mind, Timothee. I accept your deal and do everything to help you and my sister." I promised as I held Bianca’s cold hands.

"Thank you, Malia." his face lit up and he tapped my back, "I knew you would do this for your sister. She's counting on you, so do I."

Just then, I heard Timothee's phone rang. He immediately answered the call and noticed a change in his expression.

"What is it?" I whispered.

"It's Bianca's parents. They want to see her in the mansion right now. They're getting anxious about why she hasn't shown up for several months, they only know that she was in Germany but they figured out that she wasn't there anymore." Timothee explained.

Damn. I wasn't prepared to meet her parents, who are also my real parents. I still had so much to learn about my sister's life and I wasn't sure I could pull off the disguise convincingly.

"Okay, don't worry, Malia. I've got your back. All you have to do is follow me and we will get through this together. All right?"

I tried to calm myself but I also remembered my mother who had deceived me all my life about my real identity.

Why had she kept the truth from me? My mind was filled with questions but I pushed them aside for now. I had a role to play and I'm determined to do it well.

I would be Bianca Wilson, at least for now, and I would do everything to help my sister and Timothee.

"Okay, let's get started. I have a lot to learn, and not a lot of time to waste."

Timothee gently smiled, "You can do this, Malia. You can bring Bianca back to life."

Before I turned my back on my sister, I promised that I would return to save her life. It's hard for me to take on her identity but if it's the only way, I'll do it.
