She stayed for more than an hour in the bathroom the day after that. She didn't stop cleaning her hair until it lost the dye they put in it for the party to make sure that all the evidence of the foolishness she did that night had already vanished. Her head felt lighter since Fenny gave her a haircut. Her hair that reached her butt before now just reaches her armpits. She didn't tell her grandma about it because she knew she wouldn't like it.
