CHAPTER 88

On the third day of her return to the country, Shirley accompanied her to visit their town. They recovered her grandmother’s house from the bank but no one lived there for several years. Aling Meding's daughter studied in Manila and worked there. Someone comes to their house to clean once a week. They don't have any relatives that can stay at their home while they are away because they also have their own houses. Others are in Manila like her Ate Joy.

They went straight home. She wanted to cry when she saw the house. She has many good memories there. She suddenly ran when she saw her old bike. She actually cried as she carefully touched it. It seems like only yesterday was the last time she rode it. Suddenly she saw the scene where her face sank into the buffalo's manure when the bike fell. She laughed when she remembered that.
