Chapter 49

The Jackson Valley police searched Theodore's body in the river, but they never found him. There was no trace of evidence that he survived and made it to the other side of the river. Some of us wanted to assume that he's already dead, but it will be stupid of us to do that without a body to prove it. The hunt for Theodore Burnett continues.

There's nothing we can do right now, so Grayson and I went back to Burton Grove. Coming home is like coming to back my problems. At least when we were in Jackson Valley I don't have to think of Oliver, and Mary Sue all the time. I was able to rest my brain even just a little bit.

"Welcome home, brother." Captain Hansen gave Grayson and I a day to take a rest after what we experienced in Jackson Valley. As soon as I entered our house, Jeffrey and Mark welcomed me with a hug.

"Oh, I missed you, guys." My family is the only thing that anchors me. They are the reason why I am still fighting this war that we may never win.
