Chapter Fifty-two

Hayden pov

My phone rang, and Lexie turned around since her back was to my front and opened her eyes.

"Ignore it and go back to sleep," I said, and I started rubbing her sides.

She signed, then closed her eyes and placed her head on my heart, then went back to sleep. The phone rang two more times, and it stopped.

Jim must have taken a hint and stopped calling since I was not picking up. We had only spoken briefly before I took Lex to lunch. While she was doing her makeup, I rushed out and had a few words with him, and I promised to call him back later to find out if he found anything more. But we came back from that amazing lunch. I did not have any time because we went from feeding the twins, doing their homework and dishes, and then putting them to bed, but then she put her hand on me, and we rushed into bed, falling asleep afterward
