Chapter Twenty-Five

"Alex, wake up," I heard a voice like Hayden say.

I turned and pulled the cover over me because I was not ready to wake up yet. I wanted more time in this wonderful bed.

"Lex, wake up, or you will be late for your Claire's surgery."

I woke up immediately, I heard her name, but due to the sudden movement, my head was pounding and my eyes were blurry. I blinked three times, then slowly opened my eyes.

It was already morning because, although the draperies were still closed, I could see light seeping through.

Hayden was standing and was fully dressed in a three-piece suit, ready for his meeting. He was so handsome, looked very imposing, and was different from the Hayden I saw back home. He had put on his mask for his stay here.

"Thank you," I said truthfully because my body needed it.
