Chapter six

After researching on the internet for ten minutes, the only thing that I got was to create a diversion to escape, but first I went to look at the number of guards that are outside the house.

I stood up from the chair and handed Elijah the apple that was left on the plate, then covered their scent before I headed outside.

There were thirteen of them now, and this time, ten of them were at the gate while three were moving around the house.

"Hey!" I called one of the wolves, and he came closer.

"Do you know when Hayden will be back?"

"No, Luna," he answered.

"Oh, that's too bad," I answered, clutching my stomach.

"Is everything all right, Luna?" He asked, and his tone was dripping with worry. "

"Nothing too serious; please tell Hayden to get me pain medication on his way here, but he should not rush; I don't want to disturb him," I said with a smile and entered the house.

This was to keep Hayden from coming back immediately instead would stop at a pharmacy to get drugs.

Next, I found my taser that I usually keep for nights when I come home late from work. Armed with it and a rope, I went to find Shantel. I heard someone whispering, so I followed the voice.

She was sitting in the kitchen, eating, and answering a call.

I was about to say her name, but then I heard her say, "No, sir. They are in the sitting room, eating. I check on them from time to time, but not too much so it would not be obvious like you instructed."

She listened to the person, and after a while, she nodded.

"Yes, sir, I understand what Alpha Hayden will do if they escape."

I stepped out again and knocked. She dropped the phone quickly and then faced me with a smile.

"What is the problem, ma?"

"Who took Elijah inside? Answer me quickly because he has wounded my boy."

She stood up immediately and said, "What wound? Which child?"

I rolled my eyes and motioned for her to come. She stood up immediately and walked past me. I moved back and stylishly grabbed a knife.

I tasered her, then put the knife in her throat while she was kneeling

"Please don't hurt me," she begged.

"I won't. You have done nothing to me. The only thing I want you to do is to all the guards at the gate and get them to come in. I do not care what you do, but make sure that they come to you so that we can escape. Do you understand?"

"Yes, yes." She nodded.

So for the next thirty minutes, I spent them executing my plan. The head of the guards called her every twenty minutes. So I tied her legs and hands, then put her in the bathroom. I kept my children at the back door when I looked at the time. I still had three more minutes before her call. I took the things I stole that Hayden did not notice, a few other necessities like a knife, a taser, and a few clothes.

I rushed back to the bathroom, and the phone rang.

"Pick it," I told her.

"Accept," she answered, then screamed and started crying. I closed the door and rushed to the back. I grabbed their hand and slowly tiptoed around the house, heading to the gate.

"Mom, why are we tiptoeing now?" Lily asked me.

I kneeled in front of them and kissed their cheeks. "It is a kind of play; I will tell you more when we get to the other side of the gate, okay?"

"Yes, mommy." They both answered.

"Yes, mommy," I said, tickling both of them. They started squirming and laughing.

Their laughter gave me joy and strength to finish my plan.

I looked around to make sure that there was no one in sight, so I started to run to the gate while carrying both of them; it was faster than holding their hands.

I was almost at the gate when all the guards appeared there like a magic trick. I shook my head to make sure I was not hallucinating, then someone called my name.

I turned back, and it was Shantel. She smirked, then bowed.

"Luna, you must not remember what being a wolf is like by thinking that this would work; I already mind-linked them when you tasered me, and I am a warrior. The Alpha would never let a weakling protect you."

My face contoured in rage, I got played in my own game. I let down my children and then led them inside. When we got to where she was, she tried to hold Elijah's hand, but the look I gave her stopped her.

"Mom, is the game over?" Elijah asked.

"Yes, Mom I want to play some more," Lily pleaded.

"Later, okay, Mom has something to do. But you can have more TV time."

"Yes..." they screamed, and we rushed in. I input the movie, then sit down to watch it with them.

"I want to be like Erin and save everyone," Elijah declared.

"When everyone is saved, I will find my true love and get married to him," Lily answered.

"Ewwww," Elijah said, and I started to laugh.

"Why, Ewwww...Elijah?"

"No one is allowed to touch my sister, so she is not getting married."

"Yes, I am. Mom told Elijah that I was going to get married."

"Elijah, your sister will get married someday to someone, and so will you, but he has to be a good man and take care of her like you would."

"And your father has to approve too," Hayden chipped in.

"Daddy." They both screamed and ran to their father. We threw them both up, one at a time before he carried them in his arms.

He carried our giggling urchins and sat down beside me. He gave me a dark look but pecked my cheeks anyway.

"Daddy, where have you been? We looked for you all day," Lily asked, pouting.

He tickled her, "So sorry, baby, Daddy got held up at a meeting at work."

"Daddy, did you get anything for us?" Elijah asked.

"I did, but I will only give it if you were good and did not give any trouble."

They nodded. "We did not give Mommy trouble."

"Should I ask your mommy?"

They nodded immediately and kept looking at me, so I answered, "They were on their best behavior; they did not give me any trouble."

"Then you can have ice cream," he announced, and they started jubilating.

He led them to wash their hands, then they sat down to lick their ice cream. He had many flavors.

"Do you want?" He asked me, but I shook my head and stood up.

"Nice shirt," he said, but I did not answer.

I was heading into the room when I heard Lily ask Hayden.

"Do you have to leave for another job, like mommy?"

He shook his head. "No flower. Does your mom leave for another job when she comes home?"

She nodded. "Yes, and Aunty babysits us until she comes home."

"Do you know what time she comes home?"

"No, Daddy," she answered, concentrating back on her ice cream.

He shot me a look, in which I rolled my eyes and headed to the room.

I sat down and tried to collect myself, but it was quite hard because it felt like things were not in my control anymore.

It felt like those days again when I could not control anything, not even my attraction to him. Like those days when I let him touch me after he was rude to me all day, and I did not want to go back to that, but I knew that my body wanted him.

Not only because he was devilishly handsome, but because of the mate pull, seeing and touching him ignited the bond again, and it was trying to get us to be one again, but I did not trust him. My body may belong to him, but my soul does not.

I breathed, then stood and grabbed water from the fridge. I poured a reasonable amount and downed it. I was about to turn when I heard the door open, then he moved in. I pretended not to see him.

I grabbed my purse and tried to move past him, but he grabbed my arm.

"What?" I asked angrily and snatched my hand back.

"You know, making me more angry will only increase your chance of being punished more, so you should be remorseful," he whispered.

"Look, I am not playing your stupid punishment game. Every kidnapped person would want to leave. I did that and found out that you already thought of that. Why should I be remorseful? And if you want to get laid, then find Cecelia; I am sure she will accommodate you. And stop with all this punishment; it is getting so boring." I shouted because I wanted to hurt him so he would leave me alone.

"It wasn't boring a few hours ago? And why should I have to pay Cecelia when I have the night worker here? How much do you charge? I can pay you double that. Is it twenty thousand dollars or thirty?"

I slapped him hard, my chest heaving. He must not have seen it coming because his eyes turned murderous, but he did not touch me; instead, he raised my face with his finger.

"So small, but always so violent," he whispered, then gave me a sinister smile before he opened the door and left.

I spent a few minutes trying to get a hold of myself, but I could not, so I showered real quick, then took a short from his wardrobe and a new shirt. I had to wear them without underwear because I did not know where my bag was.

Shantel came to knock on the door and told me that they were waiting for me.

When I came out, he and the babies were no longer in the sitting room. I headed to the plane, and when I stepped in, I still could not find them.

"Where are they?" I asked one of the guards."

"Inside the room," he answered without turning.

Hayden was cuddling the twins when I opened the door. My chest felt too heavy, so I closed the door and sat outside.

"Wake up, Alex. We are now in the shadow pack," I heard Hayden say, then I opened my eyes.
