An Impromptu Meeting

Charlotte and Jamien but they didn’t say anything. Jamien and I went to class as the last lesson was about to start. After class I met Mom in her room while Jamien had gone home early.

“How did your work go, Mum?” I asked with a smile on my face.

“Pretty good, Lauryn. Why are you so happy today?” Mum asked me.

“It’s nothing. I”m just satisfied that Alpha Matthew got Lorraine out of here,” I retorted.

“Oh, my goodness. Why are you so happy on top of other people’s suffering?” Mom asked.

I complained, “Mom, I’m not happy on top of other people’s suffering. I’m just satisfied that no bullying would have happened if only Julie Duke was at Petrovic Highschool.”

“I understand, Lauryn. But it’s important to remember that everyone deserves a second chance, no matter what they have done. We should always try to understand and help those who are struggling, rather than take pleasure in their misfortune,” Mom advised.

I nodded in agreement. “You’re right, Mom. I’ll keep that in mind.”
