The Weirdos

A very familiar voice greeted me.

“Hello there! May I speak to Violet Balzano?”

I rolled my eyeballs a little lazily, though I was still holding back my anger.

“It’s her first day of school, Kylo,” I muttered.

“Em... can I talk to Violet for a moment?” He asked.

“He’s already left for school,” I replied.

“That’s too bad. I wanted to tell Violet about my invention. By the way, what time does she get out of school?”

“I don’t know, I don’t know because it’s her first day.”

"Alright, but I hope you can tell her when she gets home. I’ll call back later," Kylo cooed. “See you later.”

The line went dead, and I sighed at that. When I return to the dining table, Violet is ready with her bag.

“Mum, who called?” Violet asks.

“No one. Are you ready for your new adventure?” I squat down in front of Violet and fix her crooked tie.

Violet nodded. “This is a new adventure.”

“Of course, it will be a successful adventure, pumpkin.” Alpha Matthew sighed and put his hat on Violet’s head.
