I looked in the direction of that thud and I was stuck staring at the scene in front of my eyes. 

It took me three seconds to realize the situation then I moved, running towards the figure on the ground. Devon must have seen me because he immediately got out of the car and followed me.

I knelt next to the girl who groaned in pain holding a hand on her swollen abdomen while under her a pool of blood had formed. 

"What’s going on?" Devon asked, leaning over to the other side of the girl.

"I don’t know, I heard a noise and then I saw her," I said looking at him, "Hey baby," I said, "How can we help you?" I asked, trying to stay calm.

The girl must not have been more than sixteen, she was petite, with red hair that fell on her back and blue eyes like those of a lake that had some shades of green here and there.

The girl looked at me completely terrified, tears running down her cheeks covered with freck
