Chapter 144: The Key

“Who was it?” I teared my eyes away from the key when Pericles had finally fished out his phone from his pockets right before he notices me staring at his key. 

“J-just one of the guys,” Pericles answered me as he raised his eyes at me after reading the caller ID.

The way he sounded when gave me his answer gave away that he was lying. Whoever was calling him, it surely wasn’t one of the guys. 

Pericles stands up, his phone still ringing on his hand. “I’m just going to answer this call,” he muttered before excusing himself leaving me alone at the dining room with the set of keys I think he didn’t realized that he had left with me. 

As soon as Pericles was gone, I grabbed the keys on the table and stared at the single key that can lock and unlock the door to the room that I am most curious at. 

I rubbed my thumb across the key as I thought about the lock room.
