Chapter 145: The Party

LUCREZIA

The party was at full swing. Everyone had happy smiles on their faces and only Lucrezia was not.

Like a glum spectator, Lucrezia sat at the farthest corner of the venue, with her elbows on the table and her chin placed on her palms, watching as the party gone by.

“Pietro is still not here?” Lucrezia asked Pericles boredly who has been sitting silently beside her, allowing her to wallow in peace.

Pericles sighs. He couldn’t count how many times Lucrezia had asked the same question already. If Pietro is here, she knows that he would directly go towards her.

Why is she asking her such question? Isn’t the answer obvious.

“I’m sure he would be here any minute now,” Pericles answers her instead after glancing at his watch.

It’s already late and the party has already started thirty minutes ago, yet Pietro is still nowhere to be found.

Lucrezia was so excited to see Pietro that she came early at the party. In fact, they were one of the visitors who arrived first at the party.
