Chapter 34 - The Final Battle: Part 1
July 19 finally came and that day, from the very morning, Meredith felt that the opponents were approaching. Around noon, she notified everyone:
- The army will soon emerge from behind the trees, they will come from the forests to the east, I feel the very strong demon energy. There are a lot of them... More than we expected. Damon's anger was indeed waning, and helplessness was slowly taking its place. He felt as if all his life energy was leaving him along with anger, and when became like a normal demon again, he fell to his knees, completely exhausted. Light & Darkness: Book 1 Chapter 1 - Birthday: Part 1
Sunlight filtered through a thick blue curtain, illuminating a small room located in the attic. Right by the door was a large wooden desk, painted white, and a swivel chair. Under the desk was a trash can filled to the brim with some papers, soda bottles, and salty snack wrappers. On the desk there was a laptop in a silver casing, a pile of notebooks and books, and a tiny lamp. Above the desk there was a large shelf with a lot of books - from textbooks, through readings, to romances. Here and there, there were photos framed in colorful frames and many other ornaments such as jugs, figurines, etc.There was a large wardrobe opposite the desk, and its door was decorated with baroque ornaments of flowers, angels and animals. Next to the wardrobe there was quite big, pink dressing table with a large mirror, framed in a wave-shaped frame decorated with tiny roses. There were make-up cosmetics scattered on the dressing table, and a small box, probably containing the owner's jewelry.

Selene woke up around noon, drenched in sweat. Once again this month she had the same nightmare - ran through the dark, sinisterly rustling forest, over dry leaves and stones that hurt her bare feet painfully. Behind, Selene heard someone's footsteps, her breathing quickened more and more, and legs slowly failed to obey - she stumbled over protruding boughs more and more often, her sweater got caught on branches, leaving threads of yarn on them, which caused holes in the material. Eventually Selene exhausted herself completely, caught her foot on something large and fell face down into the pile of leaves which caused her to groan softly from pain.
