49; Rosa’s task

Nina sat behind a laptop working on some ads to get a caretaker for Cody. When Cody wheeled into the study he was displeased to see Nina there. He hadn’t slept a wink and was in no mood to communicate with anybody. He was about to wheel away when Nina looked up at him.

“Good morning Cody, I just put out some ads” she said feeling proud of herself.

“What ads?” He asked nonchalantly.

“The one to get you a caretaker” she reminded him.

“But I have Tia and there are other servants in here what do I need more for?” Cody buzzed.

“Cody none of the maids here have expertise in taking care of a person with disability, we need a professional… you’re disabled now and need proper care”

Her words struck Cody in the wrong place, when he left the hospital he had asked and had been assured that he’ll walk again. He was hopeful that his pain and fears would end but here Nina sat calling him disabled, like there was no hope for him. Fear began to grip him and so did sorrow.
