Chapter 16
We walk into the gas station and Kayla says, "Pick your poison. I'm buying, birthday girl". I think pure chocolate is the best thing for me, so I grab a king size chocolate bar nothing else in it... just straight chocolate. Kayla looks at it and says, "You got it. I just hope you don't make yourself sick before the fun tonight." I shake my head as I wait for her to pay for it and say, "Not going to happen. I plan on trying to make this last all day". She laughs and we go to school.
As soon as we walk into the school, everyone starts stepping around us. As we are walking down the hall to our lockers, it's looking like waves parting. I look at Kayla with confusion and she says, "The humans must've heard about us last night." I look around and say, "Oh well. I really don't care. It'll blow over". Just them I look up and see balloons. I get to my locker, and I have a huge sign on my locker that reads, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BITCH! TODAY YOU DIE!

After five months of being here in Cold Springs Pack, Kayla and I had learned all of our powers and Zayna told us there will be more, but those would come when we need them. It has only been a month since the announcement was made, but Kayla and I are feeling more and more like this is our pack. We love everyone here and they love us in return. Our warriors have learned a lot of new techniques for fighting, and Gamma Josh has been having them practice, with us trying to stump them with magic. At one point, I used my powers to split the earth shallowly beneath them, and they learned a technique for using that to their advantage. As time went on, Kayla and I could feel our strength growing. We are now able to use our magic all day and feel exhausted at the end of the day. We can also tell that the strength of our magic has grown exponentially.
