Chapter Forty-Eight

"What is your plan, Alexander? Why have you escaped Gehenna?" Sage Bernadette questioned Alexander, moving closer to him. "How did I not know you were in the Kingdom?"

"I don't think I owe an old hag any response, do I?" Dhruv chuckled.

Suddenly, his hair moved and separated in three places, binding my father, sage Bernadette and Calixto down. They all struggled to free themselves. I could even see the hair burning slightly through their flesh.

"Don't struggle. It'll only hasten your death. My hair, after all, is stronger than ironwood and coated with wolfsbane," He warned them and faced me. "Remain seated there. Once I'm done I will face you."

The guards of Trinigad, led by Barton, surrounded the whole place. But Dhruv stood confidently, unperturbed by their presence. He had every right to be that confident; I knew that the guards stood no chance against him.
