Chapter Fifty-Four

I grind my teeth together, feeling uneasy as I sat still on the bed. I have had sex before, with Alexander -Dhruv, yet this time around it seemed different. I didn't want to sleep with him, not after everything he had done.

My hands went up to my cheeks the moment Dhruv stood at my front. I could feel sweat break out on my skin once his hands rested against my other cheeks. His eyes, which appeared soulless, didn't seem to focus on anything in particular. With the use of his second hand, he took my hands away from my cheeks before running a finger down it in a way that felt tender.

"I sense your nervousness, Annalisa. I can even hear the rapid beat of your heart," he smirked, his fingers tracing a path down to my lips. I gasped, aware of the sound of my own racing heartbeat. "We have been physically intimate before, my dear Annalisa, and this encounter would be no different."

But it would be different; those unspoken words weighed heavily on me, yet, fear prevented me from voicing
