Chapter Fifty-Five

A whistle brought me back to reality. Did I end up in Gehenna? It didn't seem like it. The whistle I was hearing didn't sound like a product of Gehenna. It was heavenly, like a lullaby that could trap one in a beautiful sleep. It reminded me of the exact whistle I had heard from Alexander on the night of our wedding, before he had stopped time. But why? Why was I hearing Alexander's whistling? However, with how ethereal the whistle sounded, I was convinced the moon goddess had brought me to her abode. I felt a feathery feeling on my skin. I could tell someone was rubbing my body with a warm towel, but I didn't know who it was. Perhaps, it was a messenger of the moon goddess herself. My eyes were shut tightly and I was having a hard time pulling them open.

With time, the whistle gradually subsided, and with great effort, I managed to pry my eyes open, taking in my newfound surroundings. I found myself in what appeared to be an ordinary room, lying on a bed in my most vulnerable state—
