Chapter 2 The Unbearable Pain

That thing moved swiftly under the dim moonlight. In spite of that, the color of it still manifested itself.

"Blood Fox."

Out of nowhere came an indifferent voice. Dugu Muyou fixed her eyes on a near place ahead, which had been empty seconds ago. Now, a man in a black cloak stood there, and he was the owner of the voice.

The Blood Fox hesitated for a moment but soon still ran towards her without hesitation.

She defended with her hands subconsciously, but it then turned into a ray of red light and dove into the space between her eyebrows.

She felt weird to have something not of her own in her head. At the very moment, the man's Qi burst, which made her breathless. It was the first time that she had feared something in all these years.

She didn't see him coming, but he had already approached her. He then crouched down and reached to stroke the space between her eyebrows.

She couldn't move at all. His Qi was way too powerful. She felt that she had been seen through, though he didn't even take a glance at her.

"How?"

He seemed to be not so much asking her as talking to himself.

After quite a while, he broke the silence.

"You're too weak!"

The direct judgement irritated her. She asked hoarsely, "Who are you?"

"It's not your question to ask." He said softly.

His fingers were still on her forehead. Contrary to his Qi, his fingers were dry and warm.

"If you like her, then so be it."

Inexplicably, he said so suddenly. Then he looked down at her alert eyes.

"The Blood Fox has chosen you, so you're mine now. But you're too weak. In one year, you should reach the Stage of Divinity, travel through space, and come to me."

The way he spoke or even declared, was formidable, manifesting his power.

Dugu Muyou scoffed at him and raised her head, "Why am I yours? I don't even know you!"

"Nangong Xun."

"Then do you know who I am?" She asked again.

"I don't care. The Blood Fox has chosen you, so you're mine."

Hearing his distant tone, she sneered, which pulled the wounds and made her cough violently.

He just then looked at her and didn't say a word until she stopped.

Not daring to look into the eyes, she fixed her eyes on his face and said hoarsely, "I'm the muggle of the Dugus, and you want me to reach the Stage of Divinity in one year?"

His face was finally not frozen. He raised an eyebrow and reached a hand to scan her body. Magically, the wounds disappeared soon, and she felt comfortably warm.

"Meridians blocked? No wonder." He was not surprised, seeming to have already known it.

"If I clear your meridians, are you able to reach that stage, travel through space, and come to me?"

The last few words were what she cared about. A trace of pain and ruthlessness flashed across her eyes.

"Can I travel through space at the Stage of Divinity?"

"How do you think I got here?"

"Well, deal. You clear my meridians, and I reach the Stage of Divinity in one year." She managed to stand up, looking resolved.

She didn't want much power. Traveling through space was enough. She wanted to go back and kill the two herself, showing them the price for betraying her.

"Do you know that you're going to suffer when I'm clearing your meridians?"

"I'm not afraid, as long as it does help me travel through space."

The way she treated herself was much more rigid than she did to others.

He nodded but didn't say anything. He then reached out his both hands, with the palms facing up, in which faint golden Qi was rolling like waves.

The Qi flew into the space between her eyebrows, which brought her unbearable pain inside the head. It hurt so much that she shouted and fell backward.
