"No!" Lizzie shook her head, denying the implications. Fall in love with him? How was that even possible? Even if all the men in the world went extinct, she would never fall in love with him.

"No? You don't care about me? Or you haven't fallen for me?" Bruno smirked, "Why are you so eager to deny it?"

Lizzie froze, "Stop joking around. If you want to sulk, go ahead, I'd prefer it if you fell ill." She had pitied him being sick, but it wasn't exclusive to him. She would do the same for anyone who fell ill.

Normally, Bruno would be fuming, but today he simply smiled, "If I die, won't you become a widow? Besides, could you bear to see me gone?"

"What does your life or death have to do with me?" Lizzie turned away, avoiding his gaze. Why was he acting this way? His smile seemed warmer, unlike his usual cold demeanor.

This must be her misperception, it must be because Bruno was sick that he gave her such an illusion.
