104: His Indifference

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Lizzie stirred, feeling weak all over. She reached for her robe, barely had it on when Bruno emerged from the bathroom. He glanced at her casually before heading towards the door. As the apartment door opened, Adeline stood in the doorway.

"Adeline, what brings you here?" Bruno asked, surprised.

"Bruno, did you forget? You called me two days ago and said you'd be back last night. I've been waiting. But you didn't show up, so I brought the suit you'll need for tonight over." Adeline looked at him, his bare upper body wrapped only in a towel, his thick short hair still dripping wet. She didn’t need much to figure out what happened here.

However, she couldn't voice her thoughts, neither could she object. All she could do was bury her anger and displeasure deep within her heart. Bruno nodded, "Come in." Perhaps due to the shower, his head was clearer, and his voice wasn't as hoarse as when he first woke up.
