Chapter 45 - A Leopard Can't Change Its Spots

At the end of a few seconds of silence, cries are heard in the woods.

"Let's get out of here." Marty held Christine's hand and started walking.

Christine pulled her hand and followed Marty as she limped.

"Ouch!" Christine bent over to massage her swollen ankle.

All of a sudden, her body was lifted. Christine was shocked that Marty carried her in his arms.

"Put me down, I can walk." Christine tried to get down.

"Don't be childish" Marty spoke coldly.

Christine's body was rigid as a wooden block in Marty's arm. She held back from relaxing on Marty's arms.

"Tell the driver your address." Marty closed his eyes as he laid his head on the backrest.

Christine glanced at Greg and said, "35 Ravenhill."

Marty looked incredulously at Christine.

The car halted in front of Christine's mansion.

"Thank you, Mr Jacobs." Christine opened the car door, as her right foot touched the ground, she was suddenly lifted.

She gasped upon realizing she is in Marty's arms again, "Hey, put me down." C
