Chapter 24

Vivian stepped out of the taxi and walked up to the front door of her father-in-law's home. She took a deep breath before pressingthe doorbell.

The door began to open slowly and Vivian was greeted by Mrs Rose, who welcomed her with a warm hug.

"Welcome back Vivian, it's been too long. How was your trip?" Mrs Rose asked as she tookVivian's hand and led her inside.

"It was fine, thank you," Vivian answered, feeling a little nervous.

As they entered the living room, Vivian couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort. She had spent many holidays and family gatherings in this room, laughing and chatting with her husband Jerry and his parents.

But now, things were different. She was no longer the happy bride she had imagined herself to be on her wedding day. Instead, she was a broken woman, betrayed and hurt by the man she had thought she would spend the rest of her life with.

"Please have a seat, Vivian," Mr Will said, motioning to the couch.
