Chapter 25

Vivian stood nervously outside the door of her father-in-law's home. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. The dooropened and she was greeted by Mr Will, her father-in-law.

"Vivian, my dear, come in," he welcomed her with a smile.

Vivian entered the house and was met by Mrs Rose, Jerry's mother. MrsRose embraced Vivian.

"Welcome, dear. How are you doing?" Mrs Rose asked with concern.

Vivian took a deep breath before answering. "I've been better," she admitted.

Mr Will brought Vivian a glass of water and they all sat down in the living room.

"Vivian, we're so sorry about what happened on your wedding night," Mr Will began. "Jerry's behavior was completely unacceptable."

Vivian nodded, tears in her eyes. "I never expected him to do something like that to me."

Mrs Rose rubbed her back soothingly. "It must have been a terrible shock."

"It was," Vivian agreed. "And since then, things just haven't been the same between us."

"Have you talked to Jerry about how you feel?" Mr Will aske
