My first impression of the underground base of the Agnello mafia was 'spine-chilling'. It has a dark ambiance wherever I go, whichever hallway I turn to, or whatever room I enter.
My hasty steps turned to a quiet hallway, a route I'm sure is to the supply room. I've already mapped out the entire base for the entire week I've been here. A few moments later, I stopped in front of a locked door.
I pulled out my ID and was about to go in when I heard approaching footsteps.
"Hey!"
Ugh, how unlucky. I slowly turned to the owner of the voice. My eyes went to the color of his ID—gray—an upper officer. I immediately recognized his face once I realized he was an upper officer, a rank only a handful of people have. Rico Brown.
His eyes also went to my ID and frowned at the color—brown—I was an errand girl.
"Who ordered you to the firearms supply room?"
I slightly bowed at him, recognizing the huge gap in our ranks, and muttered, "A superior asked me to check the inventory, sir."
"Which superior?"
I didn't skip a beat with my answer. "Mikhail, sir, a hacker from the intelligence squad."
"Can you confirm the order from this 'Mikhail' right now?" He folded his arms over his chest, still suspicious.
I obliged, pulling out my phone and dialing Mikhail. Rico waited as I fiddled with the phone. A few moments later, it started ringing and Mikhail picked up after three rings.
[Hello?]
"Hi, Sir Mikhail," I greeted, glancing at Rico. I put the phone on the loudspeaker. "Sir Rico would like confirmation about your order to check the inventory of the firearms supply room."
[Oh, yes. I did ask you to do that.]
I saw Rico nod beside me. I muttered a quick thank you to Mikhail and ended the call. Not long after, Rico walked away and I entered the supply room.
As I closed the door behind me, I pulled out my phone and texted the number I had earlier.
'Thanks for the save, Jaguar.'
He replied immediately, 'No problem.'
Mikhail from the intelligence squad did not order me anything.
I grinned and looked around the room. I listed down all the firearms in every crate, every dangerous weapon I could see. Agnello mafia is the top rival of the Rios mafia in the underground business, especially weapons trading. On the surface, the Agnellos are owners of the Grand Mien casino, also a competitor of the Basil Hawks casino of the Rios mafia. They're also co-owners with the Rios and other powerful names in numerous businesses and projects, both legal and illegal.
I have yet to meet the heads of the Agnello organization, but I heard they're a couple with a front of benevolence, their cunning and dangerous character hiding underneath a kind face—Christiano and Granellia Agnello, called commonly as Chris and Ellie, as well as their two children.
Their dark, evil underground base shows the truth of the Agnellos.
"The ship for the trade with that French mafia will arrive in the Long Beach port in an hour. We'll be taking their gunpowder in exchange for the six containers of firearms. We need to finish the trade in four hours, so we have to hurry. Got it?"
Our supervisor briefed us on the big trade we'd be involved in later, three days after I sneaked in to see which firearms we'd be trading in the supply room. Our group was tasked to take the gunpowder from the ship and replace it with firearms.
I wore the mafia's uniform, a black skin-tight coverall with a cap and a waistband of weapons, as well as black combat boots. Since this was one of those high-profile trades, we were also told to wear masks to hide our identity.
I'm feeling giddy. It's been a long time since I busted high-profile trade deals.
We arrived at the port a few minutes before the container ship docked and three men in corporate wear greeted us in the dock. The top officer who mandated this trade was Sir Rico, who was also in corporate wear. He and the French men from the ship talked for a while in the distance.
Not a moment longer, Rico followed them into the ship to probably confirm the contents of the container. The rest of us patiently waited for the signal to start carrying the crates in the container. Until...
Everything happened so fast and I was too pumped up to miss a thing. I followed the quick turn of events. After Rico checked the first container, an explosion went off on one of the containers. Everyone was too shocked to move. They then used that advantage to set off more bombs on the other containers. They blew up consecutively.
I hid my grin.
"B-Bombs?!"
"We've been discovered! Cancel the trade!"
"Fuck!"
When the Agnello people finally recovered, they divided into groups—like the organized division that they are. One group went to look for the bombers, another went to save as much gunpowder as they could before the ship sank, and the last went to support Sir Rico. I came with the group that was to look for the bombers.
We climbed the ship and scouted the area, while I climbed directly to the cockpit. I was greeted by a pile of unconscious sailors on a corner. My mouth gaped.
"How...grotesque!" I exclaimed, frowning at Jaguar. He was in front of the control table with his arms crossed. He wore a suit similar to the French men but he had on his shades and a longer coat. "You could've drugged them and left them on their seats, you know."
"Things didn't exactly go as I planned," was his simple reply.
"Have you checked if your superior is still alive?"
"Oh, I haven't. He probably still is. He has a bulletproof vest."
He cocked his right eyebrow. "Will that vest protect his head from exploding with the bomb?"
I placed my hands on my waist. "Good point," I replied and grinned. "Anyway, here's my report."
I unbuttoned the first three buttons from my coveralls as he looked to the other side. Pulling out a folded paper, I handed it to him with a smirk. "What a gentleman," I teased. "It's not like you haven't seen everything yet."
"Shut your mouth."
I chuckled. "I thought you liked it wide open."
He frowned.
Amid all the explosions and exchanging gunfire, police sirens rang across the pier. The local police are here. I have to escape and leave Jaguar to wrap this all up.
I turned around without a word when we heard the sirens. I fixed my coveralls as I went for the door. It was perfect timing that my two-way radio announced our escape plan.
[All units, withdraw. The deal is blown. Our orders are to escape and avoid the police. Use D-410 route through 4th street.]
The order was repeated a few more times. As I jumped off the ship and joined the others inside the vehicles, I never turned back to see how bad the damage was—or if he was still looking at me. Our relationship is different when we're at work and when we're off-duty. We remain professional because a slight distraction can ruin our entire mission. And missions of agents of our caliber aren't to be treated lightly.
"Did anyone find the bomber, at least?"
We all shook our heads. We had just gotten back to the Agnello's base. None of the mafia men was caught due to the organized escape plan and quick response. Sir Rico also survived, although with heavy injuries from barely avoiding the bombs. I should've sabotaged the rescue task earlier and left him, if not for our unit captain insisting we save him. He's a top official and should the police get a hold of him, it'll be troublesome for us.
My moves were still limited.
I needed more time.
Besides, the main mission is not to bring down the Agnello mafia, just to investigate the Rios mafia through here and strengthen their connection so the Agnellos can suffer greatly when the Rios mafia crumbles.
Our main objective is to shake up the underworld society by bringing down one of its most prominent figures.
FallonI forgot the time when I was talking with the wives. I only realized two hours had passed since I joined them when their husbands returned. I was enjoying telling the story of an innocent bar waitress seduced by a lustful, pathetic mafia man who almost begged to be wed to me. I held my laugh when I saw my supposed husband coming my way, dripping with sweat and unaware of all the humiliating fake scenes I told the wives.I covered my breath hitch with a smile when he immediately wrapped his arms around me as soon as he returned. I noticed the wives' eyes on us so I decided to solidify my stories by showing him so submissive of me.I gently stroked his hair and rid his face of some stray strands."Are you tired?" I purred, my voice soft and seductive. His right brow and right scarred lip twitched in subtle surprise. "Mhmm...""Oh, how sweet!" One exclaimed. "The freshness of a newlywed couple takes me back!"The others agreed and I faintly laughed. "If we wish to last until the g
Warning: This chapter contains mature content.Even with my racing heart, I still heard the heavy exhale that escaped my lips when he pushed me on the bed. The canopy bed felt so tiny in comparison to last night.Why...Why did I even try avoiding him last night?Looking at him now, he looks like someone who gets what he wants. And he also reacted subtly vicious last night when I slept on our honeymoon. A small part of me knew he'd still get 'it' if he really wanted. And now..."I find smart girls attractive," he said, unbuttoning his polo and flinging it over his head. "But not so much with devious girls."Too bad. He met a two-faced girl like me. The most devious of them all.I bit back my snarky comments and let him go over me. My wrap dress was easily undone with a single pull from the knot and my undergarments were immediately exposed. It was only midday, yet here we are.I held my breath when he surveyed my bareness. I did the same. My throat suddenly dried at the sight of his to
It became a battle of pride – of who'll pass out of exhaustion first.I wasn't very experienced in bed, but he seemed like he was. I couldn't even deny the limitless pleasure I felt. And I couldn't say he forced himself inside me because I humiliatingly ached for him too. He was a fit man, so it was a given that his stamina was good, but I pride myself in my endurance. And now, it's been a week and we've been continuously doing it. We barely got out of the room and we've both been neglecting our duties. I... couldn't get enough of him.At first, Jaguar's face popped up in my mind but as time passed by, I didn't realize I already had Jett's face and body memorized that I see him even when my eyes are closed. The sexual attraction and thirst we had for each other was unbelievable. So much so that after my third release, I decided to have a little fun while on this mission. Now, how long has it been? I lost track of time.I stared blankly at the ceiling; my body naked under the thick cov
"Kneel.""Mhmm, just like that."He grasped a handful of my hair and tightly gripped it as I felt him twitching inside my mouth. He released shortly after my skillful maneuvering, and I panted when he pulled himself out. He was panting like me, and his hands cupped my chin.Looking down at my kneeling figure, his droopy eyes blinked as he smirked, "You're learning. Keep it up."When I remained silent, he urged me to answer. I mumbled, "Thank you, master."I rose from the cold bed, catching my breath. My hands went to my throat, which felt full just a moment ago, and looked around. I'm in the same room, but the lights are off and I'm...alone.My eyes widened. What was that?! Did I just dream of us?!Why?!If I remember correctly, that was on our third day. Why did I dream of that so suddenly, and even after so many days have passed? To take my mind off that steamy dream, I washed in the bathroom and prepared for today's formal party. It's been a few weeks since I started snooping aroun
My eyes remained glued to him. It was hard to look away. Especially when spicy memories of our week-long honeymoon returned to my mind after seeing him.The guests flocked to him as soon as he reached the bottom of the stairs. He instantly became preoccupied, and I took my time sipping my cocktail.“He’s an eyecatcher, really,” Rory remarked. I forgot she was still with me. She was also watching the jerk and noticed the crowd that was formed around him.I only smiled shyly.A lady neared him and snaked her arm in his. She looked up at him and smiled seductively. My lips pursed and my smile slowly vanished. I quietly observed the unfolding scene from the bar counter. She said something and he replied, widening her smile. The crowd surrounding them slowly dispersed when they noticed his full attention on her.“Is that his wife?”“What? The rumored prostitute?”“Idiot. That’s Noah Reine, a model. How could she be a prostitute?”“Then are the rumors wrong?”So, they thought I was a prosti
Jett"I'm sorry, Jett." Our family lawyer surrendered and sighed. "You know the madam's last will cannot be revoked. It's a genuine and notarized will. My power is limited in this situation."I gritted my teeth. "But it's an absurd will! How the hell is that kind of will even be allowed?"He only shook his head again. Mama's last will is unbelievably ridiculous. I can't believe she didn't tell me about this when she was still alive. I needed to be wed for a year first before being able to claim her assets. Bullshit! And this was approved by American law? Another bullshit!Grunting, I mumbled, "American law is hilarious."When I consulted Old Barry about it, he only laughed and said, "Well, you should go on and find a wife.""What? I'm saying I need suggestions on how to get the fortune without doing the will!" Then I paused and studied his face. Puzzled, I asked, "You're not in on this too, right?"He chewed his grapes slowly. "I was one of the witnesses of the madam's last will.""Ah
I punished myself by overworking and stressing over the pile of workload. It was a good respite for a few weeks. But the days went by agonizingly slow. I felt like such a different man after Fallon came into my life.I hated the change so much that I started blaming her.My past women didn't keep me up all night thinking about them. I was only there for the pleasure, and so were they. But with my wife, her sweating face and hair sprawled on the bed kept me awake all night.I was becoming a stranger to myself. I didn't know what I was feeling. And I feared the unknown the most.I felt like that week with her was the best week of my life. And I didn't even know what a 'best' week felt like before that."I don't understand what I'm feeling, and it scares me," I mumbled, half drunk."Do you like the young madam, Jett?"When I ran to Old Barry one night asking for help, I didn't understand his advice."I don't...I don't know.""Well, you don't feel hostility or dislike towards her, don't y
JettShe has been asleep for three days straight. The news of her kidnapping alarmed the guests of the casino that day and they kept annoying me for updates. I had to stay at the casino to settle the situation for those days that she was asleep and I felt gut-wrenching that I couldn't look over her personally. The workload piled more than before. It was keeping me in that office. For days, I holed up in that room again. I could only visit her late at night when I would see her in a slightly different position than last night's. That night's events traumatized her and exhausted her body, I thought. On the fourth day, I visited one of our ports for underground business. I had a ship full of traded goods arriving today, but I was informed that they were late for over an hour. I figured to personally check up on the situation, to find an excuse to leave the office for a moment."What did the pilot say?" I put my hands on my waist as I stood by the pier, awaiting the cargo ship. An umbrell
