As Sandro walked me out of the hospital, I managed to control my impulses to be as cool as possible in carrying out the plan. I couldn’t fail, much less put feelings in between. If I thought too much about my family, I would instantly suffer and put them at risk.

I stopped suddenly and put my actor to act.

— I need to go to the bathroom, Sandro. – I tried a frustrated expression, as if the need was urgent – I can’t hold it.

— I’m sorry, – he shook his head in denial and walked back towards the exit.

— Can’t make a stop to go to the bathroom?

He came back and looked me right in the eyes.

— The last time you said you needed to go to the bathroom, you ran away. – He pointed his finger in my face – I’m not going to fall for that talk of yours again.

They should not consider it an escape because I defended myself.

He thought about it, knowing I was right.
