Chapter 29 : Planning and Plotting

Waking up from her calm but troubled sleep, Brindle noticed that her usual morning orange juice was missing. Seated on the bed, her head reclined, and her tousled hair framing her face, she scanned the surroundings to confirm if the juice had been placed somewhere different than its usual spot, right beside her bed.

She grabbed the house cellphone to inquire why her juice wasn't beside her bed today. The phone rang, but no one answered. Puzzled, she decided to go downstairs and check for herself, what the reason could be... Clad in her nightgown, she stepped out of her room with sleepy eyes, descended in the elevator, and headed straight to the kitchen…………….

"Why is my juice not beside my bed?" she demanded, glaring at one of the maids who was cleaning the kitchen. The maid didn't utter a word but composed herself, facing her madam.
