Chapter 25 (The birthday)

Gabriel’s p.o.v

I was driving like crazy while returning. I always had limited time with Zayla and now that limited time was even cut short. All thanks to Aunt Nancy and Uncle Max. I rushed back to the house but to my surprise, the whole house was dark with no lights, curtains all down, as if no one lived there. The fear of something happening to Zayla started crawling inside me. Even though no uninvited people could enter the territory all thanks to Aunt Nancy’s magic but still I could not convince myself to calm down.

“Zayla?” I barged in.

Inside there were few candles placed at around few meters distance from each other and a note was beside each of them.

“Gabriel, this is from Zayla.” -The first note.

“Come on keep on following the light.” -The second note.

“Thank you coming into my life. Though you’ve done nothing more than being a complete headache in my life,” laughter escaped my mouth. “You are also someone who is now an irreplaceable person in my life.” -The third note.
