Chapter 47

Giovanna’s face lit up when she saw Ricardo enter the mansion. She hurriedly ran to greet him. Giovanna felt so bored in that house that she could hardly wait to see a familiar face.

“I’m glad you’re here,” she sighed in relief as she embraced him. “I thought I wouldn’t see you here so soon.”

“I thought I wouldn’t need to see you for the next ten days,” he observed the surroundings, as if searching for someone. “What happened to the honeymoon?”

The smile faded from Giovanna’s face until there was nothing left. She lowered her head and thought about what she should say to him when hurried steps approached. When Giovanna turned to see who it was, she found Antony, freshly showered and dressed as if ready for work.

“Thanks for coming, Ricardo,” his voice sounded from a distance. Antony didn’t dare to approach. “I’m waiting for you in my office.”
