Kiss Her. She won't Know.

Anna couldn't hold back her blush as she led him to the bed, with them clinging to each other like lovers. She kept staring at his face to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her. What was happening that night was something no one will ever believe if she tells them the story.

It was like those fairy tales or unrealistic romance novels where people meet in the most unimaginable way. Her eyes weren't deceiving her. She was with the country's richest man's son this night, in her house.

His cologne was also proof of his extravagant wealth. She had never smelled such a rich, heartwarming, and savory scent in her life.

It was a sandalwood and amber scent mixed with a musk note, which intrigues as much as it fascinates with its almost erotic and sensual fragrance. Anna felt so lost in his essence that she wished to stay with him forever.

"We are at the bed already. Release me!" The young man brought her back to her senses, and she realized how powerful his aura had been on her. She quickly released her hands around him to allow him to rest on the bed. He collapsed on the bed tiredly with a deep groan of relief, which shows how exhausted he had been.

Anna was just too awestruck to ask him anything. How did someone like him wind up here? What must have happened? And who were those men chasing him? What do they plan to do to him?

Kill?

She thought and trembled at that thought, which seemed to be the truth. She had heard and seen the billionaires go around with bodyguards and cops to protect themselves from enemies who planned to kill them.

Fuck!

She cursed under her breath in fright and instinctively covered the young man's entire body with a duvet.

"Hey, what are you....

"Don't make any sound!!! They might come in here like you did and find you!!" She yelled in anxiety before speeding back to the door, which she shut and locked with her hands shaking. It seemed like she was grasping the whole situation, which was more dangerous than she thought.

Those men might have been sent to kill the billionaire's son, and he ran into her house for safety. If they find him here, she will be killed alongside them for protecting him.

She locked the door but didn't return. Through the keyhole, she peered out to the outside, praying the wicked men wouldn't find their way in.

Sweat plastered all over her face as she kept panting silently. Her heart was heavy at the thought of the young man being harmed, and she was ready to protect him at any cost—something she didn't know how she was going to do. Like, how does she plan to keep him safe if the man comes in like he did.

"Hey, girl, what are you still doing there? You are going to be a watchman this night?" The voice of the man behind her came in, his tone calm but powerful and somehow possessive in a way she can't understand.

"I have to make sure they don't come in here and find you! Stay back inside the duvet!" She whispered and glanced at him to see he was already sitting upright at the edge of the bed, staring back at her with a glazed look.

"What type of house is this you stay? After having a gate and fence, do you still need to stand at the door to keep watch? So that thing built around this house is the fence guarding it?" He chuckled, folding his arms and revealing his biceps muscles.

"How did you get here? Over the fence?" She asked with a hands placed on his waist as her eyes scanned around his body.

Daren couldn't hold back his laughter at her question.

"Those men can easily walk in here without recognizing there is a fence. We're lucky they aren't killers, but unarmed thieves who don't want anyone to see their faces. How could you call those low walls a fence. Even a child can climb over," he sneered, frowning as he wiped sweat from his brow with the back of his palm.

"Really? Thank God. I thought I was in big danger." Anna sighed in relief, moving to the chair at her side, where she sat with huge smiles on her face. What she thought was a dream was happening for real.

"You are always in danger with that small fence. I forgot, we are from different worlds. Who would want to steal anything from this house? Nothing valuable is here to steal, so you are safe." He smirked, and Anna was about to frown at his words that sounded like an insult, but her lips snapped shut when he began to pull off his singlet.

Anna hastily rose and spun, facing the wall.

"What are you about to do?" She half-yelled, her eyes wide with surprise. Her heart was already beating fast.

"Go and get me your phone so I call my bodyguards to pick me up out of here. What did you think I was about to do? This place is hot like hell, so I need to pull off my singlet before I melt." He scoffed, and her cheeks flushed red instantly at how clumsy she had been.

What was she thinking before?

She questioned herself and hissed at her stupidity before turning, but the sight of his tan skin, broad tattooed chest, and six packs made her mouth drop open in awe.

Her eyes trailed up to his face, and she noticed how cold his expression was. She could clearly see the lack of emotion in his eyes, and something about him was unusual at that moment.

"You keep staring at me. Don't you think it's cringy? I said you should help me with your phone so I can make a call." He snapped angrily at her, but Anna's smile left him surprised and confused.

"You shouldn't be smiling. It's cringy." He added under his breath, gazing at her face.

"I am sorry. I don't have a phone." She replied, and he scoffed.

"I don't expect you to have." With a hiss, he pulled his leg up to the bed.

"Can I get some chilled, clean water then? Or you don't also have that?" He requested, emphasizing the word "clean." as he maintained a straight face.

Anna beamed again and walked over to the fridge beside the room. It was her stepmother's fridge, and she knew fully well that it would result in a punishment if she took anything from that fridge. Lisa had warned her never to go near it, let alone talk of drinking any water from it.

But she doesn't care at that moment. The young man was all that mattered to her.

He gulped down all the water in the bottle after scrutinizing it before lying back down gently on the bed. All he did was drop the bottle on the floor and nod at her before closing his eyes.

"You must be weak and exhausted to say anything. Sleep tight and goodnight." Anna whispered gently as she picked up the plastic bottle on the floor. She was sad at how cold he was, but believed it would be out of exhaustion. something she forced herself to accept.

He didn't even express appreciation or gratitude; instead, he used derogatory words on her, not caring if she was hurt or not.

"He must have gone through a lot this night, which made him act that way." Anna muttered silently to herself as she went back to the couch to lie down after disposing of the water bottle.

She believed they would get to know each other well the next day and couldn't wait to actually get close to a very handsome and rich guy like him. He might just be a blessing in disguise—the man who would take her away from the suffering and pain she was going through at the hands of her stepmother, but that hope seemed bleak as she saw how rude and cold he was to her.

He lay on the bed under the duvet while she bundled herself on the small couch and dozed off after switching off the light.

Almost an hour later, Daren opened his eyes just as he began to hear her silent puff of sleep. He was never asleep and just closed his eyes to give her the impression. Silently, he sat up and turned on the light.

His eyes went to the young girl who was squeezed on the one-seater sleeping, and that caused a weird tug in his heart, which forced a deep frown from his face.

"I shouldn't care." He silently warned himself and sat back down on the bed hastily in surprise. He had no idea when he had gotten out of bed.

She just saved him from losing his most precious necklace, which would have been stolen by those thieves after he was tricked to go out without a bodyguard by his best friend, but that shouldn't be enough reason to feel this way towards her.

His gaze was drawn to her calm face and slightly parted heart-shaped pink lips, and he realized she was stunningly beautiful at that moment.

There was something striking about her as he gazed at her, but he couldn't lay his hands on what it was. Slowly, he left the bed and stepped close to her, crouching and leaning forward.

"I don't know if you really know me well. You seemed to have only seen my pictures, but you don't know anything else about me. "Perhaps if you really knew who I was, you wouldn't let me in with all those cheesy smiles and admiring gazes." He paused and snickered.

"I hate all women, and you are one of them." He drew his head close to her ear and whispered, but as he was pulled away, his cheek grazed hers. And he felt her breath waft through his face, realizing how close their faces were. Her lips were so inviting and sensual that his eyes fixed on them lustfully.

"Kiss her. She won't know. Just taste those lips. Check the tenderness, and let's see if you feel any tingles. Do it!" His subconscious began yelling at him, skyrocketing his desires.

Why did he want to kiss a stranger? Not just any stranger, but a poor one! What happened to his hatred of women?

All these vanished from his memory as his lips drew closer.
