"James, what are you doing? I'm fine now," Alice exclaimed, attempting to push him away.

James held her tightly, making it difficult for her to breathe.

"You have no idea how scared I was when I heard that you were in the hospital," he admitted, slightly easing his grip.

"Why didn't you inform me?" he complained.

"I'm sorry for making you worry, but I'm doing great now," Alice reassured, reaching out to hold his shoulders.

"Are you sure you're okay?" James asked again, and Alice nodded.

"How is the baby? What did the doctor say?" James inquired once more.

Lucas observed them from the doorway, witnessing their intimacy, and he felt his heart tearing apart. This was the same man from the elevator, and now, hearing their conversation, Lucas was certain that this man was the father of the child in her belly.

She had mentioned Siya was coming, but it turned out she had called someone else. She lied to him. This explained why she was insisting on him to go home – she didn't want him to stay
