Riley felt Her chest heavy with a feeling of stress and confusion. She changed into her normal clothes and asked for leave from the manager present. The manager argued with her, but her friend Roma immediately came to her aid. She didn't ask Riley why she wanted to leave in such a hurry, she just offered to work in her place. The manager readily agreed and Riley walked outside.

When Riley finally left the restaurant, she could’ve sworn Christian looked right at her - he was observing her, without saying anything at all, and even though she had supposed he would come running behind her he didn't. In some ways, she found it odd. It was hard to believe that he would let her be.

She steps onto her balcony and the eerie silence gnaws its teeth in Riley's cheekbones. The smell of someone frying noodles is so faint in the air, that she wonders if someone is cooking near her.
