"Goodbye," Riley said, and the single word spilled out of her like pouring waterfalls after drought, like spools of ribbon unraveled after years of being held taut;

"I want to be happy." Her voice echoed back to her into the dry, dim land, and as her breathing slowed she could feel the world slow with it. She squinted blind eyes and shifted tired feet, to move towards the chopper her fingers felt the invisible strings of the wedding ring that tethered her to Christian's world, she removed it and felt as if it disappeared into the darkness, she hoped that this decision would lead to something better:

Stupid and silly. Christian murmurs to himself as he looks around her office. He came to her office the minute his staff told him. Riley had left for her office early in the morning. His head was still pounding with the hangover since he didn't even eat anything for breakfast, which also made his reactions
