CHAPTER 23: He‘s Been Running Through My Mind

I packed everything I need on the same brown satchel I’d usually bring before covering myself with the sheets as the Omega checked up on me at bedtime to turn the lights off.

When the doors to my room closed, I immediately got up to go.

“Oh, right!” I jog back with stealth to my nightstand drawer, taking the letter from the painting last night. I’d have to see if this was what the masked guy wanted from the painting.

Putting it inside of my satchel, I wait for the steps outside to diminish.

When silence reigned over the halls and the pack warriors who guard the pack house were off to patrol, I set forth out the doors and towards the field.

I didn’t shift for now as a bigger figure would have attracted more attention.

On foot, I run towards the borders while the cold, after rain breeze was hitting my face. the feeling of freedom as I exit this pack is eminent, how much more would it be if I somehow escape here for the rest of my life?
