"How could he?" Layton whispered more to himself. I had just finished telling him about my mate and my story.

"Does he know what you went through? Does he know you're a Warrior Wolf?" Allen asked anxiously.

I nodded and played with my hands. "They're the ones who told me I was even a Warrior. I lived my whole life as an omega."

I swear I could see smoke coming from Layton's ears. His brown hair was starting to become oily from how many times he's ran his hands through it.

"I just don't understand. That's so low. Who is your mate anyways? I want meet this ass," Allen demanded.

I rolled my eyes.

I feel extremely comfortable with these guys so I've been acting like myself. I haven't been scared that they'd hurt me or anything. I think I got over that as soon as I saw Tate kissing the bitch who's name I still don't know. When I had ran out of the house I think I decided that if I die, I die. It didn't matter anymore, but then I came here and they're making me feel so important.

"I'm not sure I should tell you," I said nervously.

I really don't want them to hurt Tate. They shot me glares.

"Alright. It's Alpha Tate Dreg. I'm sure you know him. He's my mate," I said, my voice cracking at the end.

"I've never liked him. I always knew he was just a good-for-nothing man whore," he growled.

My wolf and I cringed a little at the nickname of my mate. It made us think about all the other women. If he's got that kind of reputation then how am I supposed to compete with them? If he has others, why would he even bother looking for me?

I think Allen sensed my uneasiness and cleared his throat.

"I'll take you to my sister. Her and the Luna are probably in her room painting their nails or something. Layton is that alright with you?" He asked his alpha.

Layton looked thoughtful for a moment.

"Sure. I just have one question first. You don't have to agree, but since you basically got rejected," I felt like I had gotten whiplash at the harshness of that word. Rejected.

"I was wondering if you'd consider joining the pack? If you end up working things out with...him, we could break off your ties here and you could go back with him," he suggested.

My eyes lit up.

Aura? Would it be alright? I need some time and I know this pack would be more at ease if I wasn't just a rogue living in their pack house. I pleaded.

I heard her huff.

Yea. Just don't get too attached. I may be pissed at Tate but I still love him. She said.

I rolled my eyes at her.

I know. But this is what I think is bet at the moment. We need this. I don't want to wait around and be "saved" so I can go back to that hellhole and be one of his toys. He was made for us and is alone. Apparently that's not double sided though.

She scoffed and shut off our connection.

I went back into reality and looked back into Layton's hopeful eyes. I gave him a sad smile and nodded.

"We'd love to."

He smiled and looked at Allen who was grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

Layton smiled brightly as well then cleared his throat.

"Then let's start this. Do you, Channing Stephens, pledge to be loyal to the Greenwood Pack for as long as you shall live?" He asked.

I placed my right hand over my heart and my left one in the air as my sign that I pledge.

"I do."

As soon as those two words left my mouth, a feeling of fullness entered my body and for the first time I felt accepted and loved. Many mind links opened and I was quick to block them out for the sake of my head. I just wish I was taking this oath for Tate's pack.

I glanced at Allen with most likely a face full of doubt.  He just smiled warmly. I like him already.

"Okay. So Allen will take you up to the alpha wing with my mate and his sister. Welcome to the Greenwood Pack Channing," Layton said with authority.

I bowed my head in submission even though they know I don't feel any of their dominance.

"Come on Chan," Allen ordered taking me out of my submission.

I picked up my head and saw Allen standing by the door, holding it open for me. I quickly glanced at Layton who giving me a reassuring look.

I gave him a weak smile and followed Allen out the door to the alpha wing. The pack house was beautiful. It was more homey than Tate's, but it was cute. There were pictures of pack members all around the walls. We went up a spiral staircase. There were 4 stories in this house, whereas Tate's has 6. My heart aches every time I think of his name.

We entered another corridor. These walls only had pictures of Layton and a beautiful brunette whom I assume is the Luna.

"They're right down here. I'm sure you'll get along great with them," Allen assured me.

I couldn't help but feel nervous. I feel like I did when I first met Tate's pack.

We need to quit thinking about him. Unless he comes looking for us, we're going to attempt to move on. I've blocked out the bond for now.

We'll be alright. Aura said out of the blue.

I mentally nodded to her.

I came to a stop when I ran into a wall. I heard Allen chuckle and I immediately blushed in embarrassment.

"Don't worry I've done that plenty of times. My wolf is quite distracting too," he joked.

I grinned at him.

"You ready?" He asked. "Yes."

He knocked on the white door I was just now noticing and I heard a few squeals.

"Layton if that's you, I'm just gonna-" a smooth, feminine voice started and she opened the door, but stopped when she saw Allen and I.

"Oh," she whispered.

I looked up from the floor and saw the beautiful brunette from the pictures.

"Luna, this is Channing. She has just joined the pack," Allen announced.

I saw her nod, then they both kinda zoned out. Probably mind linking. She gasped and quickly kneeled down to me.

"What are you doing Lainee?" I heard a muffled voice in the room question.

Luna, or Lainee stood up.

"I'm kneeling before a warrior wolf. The Alpha of the Black Moon Warriors," she replied awestruck.

Before I could even say anything a girl with black hair like Allen's popped out of the room looked at me before bowing like her Luna.

"Please, there's no need for that. This is now my pack. I hold no authority here," I explained.

I shifted on my feet uncomfortably. The girl stood up and looked at her brother. They too zoned out for a minute and she gasped. This is seriously deja-vu.

"I can't believe someone would do that?! That asshole! I want his head on a stick! That's not right. Oh my goddess why would anyone do that? He accepted you! Made you feel wanted! Then he just...." the black haired girl ranted angrily.

Once again I cringed just thinking about it. Her and Lainee turned to each other and started speaking in hushed tones.

I feel like a charity case. Being treated like some sort of deity and getting all this....this pity! I can't take it. They're being nice. Aura simply stated. I know, but Aura, I can't take it anymore. Here I'm wanted. I want to take this as my chance to start over. We went over this. I hissed back. She sighed and reluctantly agreed. I snapped back to reality and used my heightened hearing to listen to what they're saying.

"I can't believe someone could stoop that low!" The black haired girl whisper-shouted.

"I know! Blaine, we need to put her back together. From what Allen told me, she's broken," Lainee said.

I sighed silently. A small tear running down my cheek. I quickly wiped it.

"Can we please stop talking about that subject? I'm here for a fresh start," I shortly interrupted their whispers.

They snapped their heads pack in my direction. I sighed seeing their sorry expressions.

"Well I'm gonna go," Allen said awkwardly then retreated back down the hallway.

"Finally! Come in."

Blaine pulled me into the room and slammed the door shut. I looked around and saw a big screen on the wall playing some kind of movie, a projector hanging on the ceiling, several large, comfy looking couches. I'm assuming it's a media room. I've heard the women of the pack talk about them in the kitchen sometimes. I never knew they'd be this amazing!

I walked over to Blaine and Lainee who were smiling widely, surrounded by nail polish, pizza boxes, and magazines. I plopped next to them on the floor and waited for someone to break the silence.

"I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable earlier. We only want to help," Lainee apologized.

I smiled.

"It's fine. It's just hard to talk or think about the situation at the moment," I replied.

They nodded in unison.

"Well, I'm Luna Lainee. Since I didn't get to formally introduce myself a earlier."

"And I'm Blaine. I don't have a title because my stupid brother just had to be born 10 minutes before me, but you know, can't have everything I guess," she said dramatically.

I laughed wholeheartedly for the firs time in years. As a matter of fact I laughed so hard my stomach started to hurt.

Once I composed myself I looked at a smiling Luna and "Beta."

I looked at them quizzically.

"What?"

They shook their heads.

"I think we'll be great friends," Lainee announced.

Blaine nodded in agreement and I felt my heart warm.

Aura howled with happiness at being accepted. I'm going to like it here.

Tate POV:

I'm losing my mind. It's been almost 4 days and nothing. I haven't slept. I haven't eaten. I feel so guilty.

I have no sympathy for you, you bastard! I told you not to kiss Lisa and you pushed me out! My wolf screamed at me.

I sighed and slouched down in my desk chair.

Cato please not now. I know I fucked up. He scoffed and left my mind.

"Damnit!" I screamed as I punched my desk.

I can't believe I let my other half, my light to my darkness, my precious personal goddess. They say that you only know you love em when you let em go, but I knew that before she left. I knew that I loved her. I know I should've done something different. I just, I don't have any clue what came over me.

I've had such a strong urge to fulfill a need ever. The things she did to me were unreal. Amazing.

"Alpha." A knock rang off my door. "Come in," I replied. I really don't want to speak to anyone right now, but it could be about Channing.

"Alpha we have done everything. We've to the next pack boarder. Neutral territory and all. None of the rogues have seen her," Beta Jacob said nervously.

I growled and ran a hand through my greasy blonde hair. Why did I have to be so stupid? Maybe I should just let her go. She was so broken to begin with. I can't imagine how she feels now.

"Okay. Tell everyone to get a good nights rest. Tomorrow I'll arrange a meeting with the alphas," I said.

Jacob nodded.

"Tate. As your Beta, I think you are holding up well for your mate being lost and I'm proud that you're trying so hard to find her," he praised.

I puffed my chest proudly and opened my mouth to retort but his hand stopped me.

"But as your best friend, I thought you'd get over your player ways and learn how to love one person, but I guess not. And for that, I'm disappointed in you. You can take the boy out of high school, but you can't take high school out of the boy because obviously you're still acting like an immature 16 year old," he deadpanned.

I was honestly taken aback by his comment. I never thought I was that bad.

"You're excused," I scowled at him as I watched him slowly leave the room.

I leaned back in my chair and punched the bridge of my nose. I need to change.

I need to change for Channing.
