I found myself outside in the courtyard alone observing the pack. Many were having conversations, some were dancing to the pop music blaring from the speakers, others played games like horseshoes and washers; typical barbecue games that I only got to witness at my old pack.

Every once and awhile someone would look my way curiously and give me a small smile or a look of pity.

I hated those looks. They made me feel weak. Ignore them.

The scent of the hotdogs and hamburgers coming from the several grills made my mouth water. I haven't eaten all day.
