Two

It's like everything in time froze. I couldn't move, all I could do was look into this handsome stranger's eyes who claims to be my mate.

Claims?! He is our mate! Aura corrected me.

I didn't bother replying to her. The only thing I could focus on was him.

"I will not allow this! She is an omega! She cannot be mated to you! My daughter should be your mate!" Alpha Greg growled.

I broke from my trance and turned to my alpha. My fists clenched at my side and I could feel my blood boil. Before I could say anything my mate came in front of me, practically shaking in anger.

"If she is an omega why doesn't she smell or feel like one?" He asked, not caring about anything else from Alpha's rant.

Ahh his voice makes me want to melt. Wait what did he say?

The other men that came in with my mate looked a little shocked at his observation, as if not believing what my alpha was saying. Alpha Greg stood silently with is mouth gaped open.

"You didn't take your second pill. How could I not have noticed?" He whispered more to himself.

I cocked my head in confusion. Of course I didn't take it! I ran out for Moon Goddess' sake.

"What pill?" My mate questioned.

Greg looked back at my mate with wide eyes. I'm sure there's some explanation for his behavior. I mean, I don't even know why I take the pills.

My alpha stayed quiet.

"What. Pill?" My mate asked once again through gritted teeth.

Greg gulped and sighed.

"Tate calm down," the man whom I presume to be Cristian said.

So his name is Tate. I smiled to myself.

A sexy name for a sexy man, Aura purred.

I rolled my eyes and listened back in.

"It's supposed to weaken her grace. Her power!" Greg finally said.

This time it was my turn to be surprised.

"Woah hold on! What power?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes.

"You really are stupid. I don't know how you can't feel it. I don't know what rank you are but all I know is that you were not born an omega, Channing." Greg clarified.

I gasped. Everything I did was basically a lie. My whole life a lie! Several gasps were heard throughout the room. I especially noticed Jamie shrink down in her seat.

My blood is boiling. I can feel my eyes turn a shade darker.

"I did everything for you. Y-you beat me! You have now gone as far as starving me! What the hell is wrong with you people?! Why would you think it's okay to fake my rank?" I shouted through tears.

Glares were sent at me from everyone of my pack members as I gave away our biggest secret. I didn't even care though. They were the least of my worries to be honest.

Tate growled and charged at my alpha. Before he could get any farther I screamed.

"Stop!"

Everything seemed to slow down. The lights flickered and the room was silent.

"What the hell?" Jamie screeched.

Well, I wish I knew.

Tate stared at me in shock. "Who are you?" He asked in awe.

Before I could say anything I was cut off.

"As if she'd know. I found her at the edge of my territory when she was 5. She's a monster and I knew it from the beginning," Greg spat, disgust obvious in his tone.

Another growl erupted from my mate's chest. Several pack members submitted although I couldn't feel anything. I just kind of stood there awkwardly with Tate's eyes firmly on me. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks and I looked down. Someone cleared their throat and I averted my gaze to the culprit.

Cristian stood tall and confident.

"With this new-found information, I'm afraid I'm going to have to put you on trial Alpha Greg. Of course we will need further evidence, so we will investigate. As for my son and his mate, they need to work things out for themselves." He announced with full authority.

I gave him a thankful smile and he returned the gesture. So that makes Tate the alpha that we all dressed up to meet. Hmm.

"I think we're done here. I'm sure this was enough of an introduction. Now if you'll excuse us, we are leaving," Tate announced.

I felt my wolf shrink down and whimper. I couldn't help, but feel sad too. I was stupid to think he'd accept me. I'm a freak.

"Why don't we gather your things mate," Tate whispered in my ear, reassuring my thoughts completely.

Aura did a somersault in my mind and I felt all giddy and happy. His breath lingered on my ear for a moment, sending shivers down my spine. I felt like putty in his hands. He could ask me to do the dumbest or most dangerous task on earth and I'd surely do it. Noticing my pleasure at his proximity, he chuckled, music to my ears, and leaned back giving me space.

"U-uhmm t-this w-way," I stuttered.

I lead him to the basement and into the darkness I call my room. I could practically feel him tense up at the sight once I  turned on the light.

Tate examined the room. Starting from my pile of blankets I call my bed, all the way to my dated bathroom. His eyes finally found mine again and they held pity. As if I needed him feeling sorry for me.

"Is that all you own?" He asked pointing at my little pile in the corner.

I nodded slowly.

He growled then made his way to me. Pushing a strand of my hair out of my face he looked at me angrily. I know that anger wasn't towards me, but towards the people who did this to me. And now I feel that anger too, and not only because I'm finally leaving, but because I just found out that I wasn't treated the way I was for my status.

"Take what you want. We're going shopping tomorrow," he said.

I stared at him in disbelief then left him to gather a few things. After I had my few belongings, we went out to the car. Few words were said for awhile. I think everyone was still shaken from the previous events. I know I am.

I will never forget tonight.

-

After about an hour in the car, I started to feel hungry because we missed out on dinner. I didn't want to say anything though.

The sky has gotten dark now. It's probably around 8 now. I looked over at Tate who was sitting in the drivers seat. Cristian and two other men were squeezed into the back. It was kind of funny actually, but I didn't laugh.

I get the feeling that they won't hurt me, but then again that's how I felt when I first went to Cresshaw pack. Suddenly my stomach grumbled and my cheeks heated up immediately because I know they all could hear. They all chuckled.

"Are you hungry little mate?" Tate asked, amused.

I meekly nodded.

"Alright then we'll stop for the night."

I am internally thanking the moon goddess right now because I am so tired of sitting.

We exit the highway and stop at a small diner and rest stop.

"Stay close Channing," Tate warned as we exited the car.

How did he know my name? I don't remember telling him...

Noticing my confusion, the blonde guy, whose name I don't know, laughed a bit.

"Your alpha called you by your name earlier."

Thinking back to the dining room, I do remember him saying it. I realized the others already went in the diner and I quickly scurried after them causing blondie to laugh once again.

The delicious smell of home cooked food filled my nostrils. It's been so long since someone has cooked for me. Heck, I don't think I've ever even been to a restaurant.

There weren't many people here. Just a few humans scattered around. I didn't detect any werewolves.

I finally made my way to the table. The guys were all talking amongst themselves, so I took it upon myself to find a seat. Conveniently there was next to my mate.

Ours, Aura corrected me.

I scoffed.

I'm sorry, I took a seat next to our mate.

Aura smirked.

When they saw me sit they stopped talking and looked at the menus. Weird.

"What are you getting?" Tate asked me.

I shrugged.

"Have you been to a restaurant before?"

I shook my head feeling a little embarrassed. I'm so awkward!

"Don't worry. I'll help you order. Do you like hamburgers?" He asked.

I nodded. He smiled warmly. Gaaaaahh! His smile is just...beautiful!

"So Channing, do you know anything about your old pack?" The red haired guy asked.

I shrugged.

"Does that mean yes?" He asked.

"I don't know. I have this dream every night. Well it's more like a nightmare. I think it may have something to do with my pack," I said.

This caught everyone's attention.

"Do you mind sharing love?" Tate asked.

I practically melted at his pet name, but I did my best to brush it off.

I nodded.

"It always starts with me standing, watching an older woman be ripped apart by a half shifted wolf. I believe the woman was my mother and the wolf was my brother. I was only five and he was 14. It was his first shift and his wolf came out to be a lunatic. Right after my mom was killed I ran and he came after me. He finally gets close and then he jumps at me and that's when I wake up," I breath out.

They all stay silent. I see a look of recognition flash through Cristian's eyes. I cock my head in confusion. He catches my gaze and right as he's about to say something, a larger, older woman came over to us.

"Hi I'm Sylvia, I'll be taking care of you today. What can I get for you?" She greets us happily.

I look to Tate and silently beg him to order for me. He nods and puts up a hand. Instinctively, I flinch. He pauses and frowns. The red haired guy started his order and then the other two, but Tate and I stayed staring in each other's eyes. I know he's hurt that I flinched but it's an instinct for me.

"What will you have sir?" The wo- Sylvia asked looking at my mate.

He broke his gaze from me to her.

"Uh I'll have a 16oz sirloin with a baked potato, loaded, green beans, and fries. Oh and my- um, she will have a hamburger with fries." He answered her.

Man he eats a lot. Though I wonder what he was going to say when he stumbled.

"Okay anything to drink?" She asked.

Tate looked at me expectantly, wanting me to tell him what I wanted. Instead I looked to the woman.

"I'll have water please," I requested.

Tate shook his head and then ordered a coke. Once the woman walked away I looked back at Cristian.

"I know your pack," he said firmly.

It took me a moment to realize what he was saying. He knows my pack?! So it wasn't just in my imagination? Oh my goddess that means my mom is dead. This can't be real. But what happened when he lunged at me?

"Channing are you okay?" Someone asked.

I broke out of my trance to see Tate looking at me sadly. Tears started welling in my eyes. I tried to hold them in but they were too much. The invisible dam broke and I started sobbing. Tate pulled me into his chest and stroked my hair. I feel safe. Yet I also feel unsure. I don't like how fast I'm getting used to this. It's all too much. He says he won't harm me, but I have a feeling he's lying.

I pulled back quickly and I can practically feel his frown. I wipe my tears and calm myself down a little then wait for them to say more.

"You're part of the Black Moon Warriors. Your pack was no ordinary pack. This is a strange question but do you have a birthmark on your torso?"  The red head asked.

I almost choke on my saliva.

"Yes," I mumble.

He gave the others a few looks.

"Does it say para proteger nuestra raza?" Blondie asked.

I gasped and nodded. There's no way. I don't have a family. I'm an orphan.

"Do you know what that means?" Cristian asked.

I shook my head and Tate grabbed my hand. Surprisingly I didn't let go. I need his support.

"It means 'to protect our race.' It was the motto of Black Moon. They were the wolves that fight all our battles against other kinds of supernaturals or hunters. They have no sense of submission, like you, they are fantastic fighters. And... I believe your father was the alpha."

Was?
