The morning rays filtered through the window and the repeated knock on the door stirred Maya up from her sleep.
"Yes?" She asked in a tired voice.
"Luna.." the voice of Gwen came through the door.
Maya sat up on the bed, and groaned inwardly. "It's opened," she said as she covered her nudity with the covers of the bed.
The door opened, and Gwen walked in. "Good morning, Luna," she greeted with curtsey.
"Morning, Gwen," Maya responded as she stifled a yawn with the back of her hand.
"The alpha sent me to ask you if you needed anything," she stated her reason for being in the room.
"Oh, where is he?" Maya inquired of his whereabout

Maya walked into the room, and Grey was standing by the window. His back was turned against hers until he heard her close the door. Maya leaned on the closed door with a sigh, as Grey looked at her. Maya got back into the kitchen and began to dish out the Creole gumbo she had prepared, into small deep ceramic plates.
