Catherine pov.

As he slept, I smiled, seeing how peaceful he was. The sight of him brought me joy, his chest rising and falling with each breath. I inhaled his scent, a mix of sweat and soap, and felt the warmth of his body radiating off him. It was as if he was a sleeping angel, and I was happy that my blood had cursed him, and I knew I would give him a lot of answers when he wakes up.

I stayed with him, not even bothering to take my bath yet. I placed my head on his chest, feeling the gentle rise and fall of his breathing. The sound of his heartbeat was comforting, like a lullaby, and I smiled as I drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up, I noticed he wasn't there anymore, and I looked around to search for him. Confusion washed over me as I wondered where he must have gone. I scanned the room, taking in the sight of the disheveled sheets and the empty space beside me.
