Chapter 31.

Amelia’s POV

Enough of thinking about Eddie, Amelia. He kicked you out, declaring that you can not work for him, and he did so ruthlessly and cruelly. You should not let him take up space in your head.

I stared blankly into space, hurt filling my chest as I thought about how he had called Mr. James and how he had not even looked at me when I was leaving.

I did not want to work for him anyway, I thought to myself defiantly as I blinked away the sweat that rolled down from my eyes.

I quickly discarded the thoughts about Eddie and then cleared my throat to get my father’s attention. He turned back to look at me and then asked if I was back. I approached him and then told him about the interview I would be going for by 3 pm. He let out a huge sigh of relief and I could tell how worried he had been about my lack of a job. He was so happy for me that I was able to get another job and then encouraged me when I explained to him how nervous I was about the upcoming interview.
