Amelia’s POV

I opened the door to Eddie’s room and it was a beautiful sight to behold. The room exudes a sharp efficiency, an order that speaks of control. Sunlight shines through a meticulously cleaned window, illuminating the polished hardwood floor, where no dust speck dares to linger. A neatly made bed is centered against the wall, with sheets pulled taut like a drumhead and a comforter folded with military precision.

On the nightstand was a single, crystal-clear glass of water reflecting the sunlight like a watchful eye. A new leather briefcase rests on the only chair, its contents meticulously organized.

Across the room, a bookshelf displays a meticulously curated collection: several books including the travel brochures showcasing exotic locales, none with coffee stains. A framed degree hangs on the wall, its silver frame gleaming, and the picture was that of Eddie and Chloe. The air hums with a quiet tension, the silence broken only by the faint tick of a clock in the corner. I
