Isabel Is Gone

Lillian's POV

I stood up to my feet, my brows pinched together in disappointment.

“What do you mean they might not make it? You're the best doctor I know......” I crouched to meet her gaze. “There must be something you can do about this. Please, help me.” I jammed my palms together and pleaded.

“It's fine, babe. You don't have to plead with me before I do it. It's my job, and it's what I love doing best. I'll try all I can, and we'll hope for good news.” She gave me a bright, reassuring smile.

I sat on a chair in the corner of the room while I watched her do her job. I silently prayed all she was doing would work out fine for them. It would all be over if they die now, and they would be no point in letting Beth know that I'm alive.

After a while of some stitching, Megan got up with a sigh of relief that she was tired. I quickened my steps towards her.

“How is it going?” I asked, my eyes flickering from them to her.

“It's now left to then, I've done my best. Let's just hope they make
