Beth's Point Of View.

Lillian grabbed my arm and walked me into the room.

“You two should excuse us, please.” She said to Jameson and Isabel with her gaze lowered to the floor.

Isabel's eyes darted from Lillian's to me, her brows raised and her face disdain with questions, but she said nothing and exited the rook with Jameson.

She swiftly turned to me as she heard the door shut.

“What do you think you're trying to do, Beth?” She snapped at me with a deep growl and her eyes laced with rage.

“The right thing.” I responded, collected.

“The right thing?” A soft scoff swept through her lips. “Like you did when you wanted to marry Alex? Hmm?” She asked.

“I would rather not marry Alex out of my free will, but I have nothing to talk about that now. We have to help this lady, she would help us get to Alex faster.” I said, trying my best to convince her.
