125. "Pretending and Protecting"

Olive’s POV

The moment Griffin stepped inside the dining room, I instantly knew what I had to do.

‘I must ensure his safety.’

Aaron probably summoned him to uncover the person who had taken me away from him and brought me into the cabin. If Aaron discovers that it was Griffin, he would not hesitate to end Griffin’s life.

Therefore, in order to protect Griffin, I must pretend that I am unaware of his presence.

When Griffin glanced at me, I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to be oblivious to his existence, even though deep down, I longed to rush into his arms and plead for him to rescue me from this place.

But I have to deceive the powerful Lycan Aaron, so I exerted all efforts to appear composed and indifferent. I kept praying that he wouldn't perceive the thunderous pounding of my heart.

I managed to act as if I really didn’t know who Griffin was. And then Griffin hugged me tightly. While hugging me, he placed his lips near my ear and whispered, [“Don’t worry, Olive. I
