46. "Asmund's Trap"

Olive’s POV

From Griffin’s clinic, I retreated to my room. Some parts of my body were still aching, but overall, I could move normally.

Just when I entered my room, I heard a knock from the door. I caught myself anticipating while looking at the entrance. But then, I reminded myself there was no need to hope that Lycan Aaron would come here to check on me.

After all, he vowed something like this: ["I assure you, without a shadow of a doubt, that Vera will forever remain the sole woman in my life. I will never fall in love with the murderer who robbed Vera’s precious life. Never.”]

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that Aaron and I would find ourselves in such a complicated relationship. Yet, I felt a pang of hurt when I heard those words. It was irrational, I knew, but emotions seldom follow logic.

With a heavy sigh, I made my way towards the door. And when I opened it, I was met with a sight that left me dumbfounded. Asmund was standing in the doorway of my room once agai
