51. "Realizing the Truth"

Olive’s POV

[“Thank you for taking the blame for me, Olive. I promise to take care of your grandmother. Just bear a little longer, okay? We need to save our Pack from that dangerous Lycan. You are my only hope. And don’t worry. Once you get out of the prison, then I will get you back. We will get married, and you will be my Luna. That’s my vow.”]

On the premise of protecting the pack and my grandmother, I took the blame for Vincent’s murder. And I held onto that promise of his that someday, we would be together. However, in just a night, I felt a huge part of me died. It was like someone sucked all the air in my body.

I went from being supremely happy to see him again to shocked silence after knowing that he had found his mate and he called me “useless.”

Wow. Just wow.

I was betrayed by the person I trusted and planned my whole life with.

I couldn’t believe, couldn’t accept that this was the person I loved.
